Business Model
An Indian subsidiary of a leading media group was launched in the year 1990. The customer is said to be the market leader in the Indian television market. Today the customer broadcasts over 40 services in seven languages and offers a comprehensive choice of entertainment, sports, movies, music, news and documentaries. It distributes content across the country through distributors.
The Customer has four Regional offices and distributes content through Distributors who in turn distribute it to the Cable operators (subscribers). This flow diagram illustrates the business model of customer. With NDS as the Conditional access system, customer distributes the content of other content providers by bundling them into packages.
The distributors book the subscribers and place the order for the required packages and hardware to the respective regional offices that in turn approve the orders and provide the required hardware. Customer has deployed MQSubscribe to manage its subscriber billing and inventory.
